Want to cook a steak exactly the way you like it at home? Juicy, tender, and evenly cooked from edge to edge? The sous vide method makes it easy—without stress or constant checking. All you need is the right temperature, quality meat, and a bit of patience.

Cooking Temperature
Choose how you like your steak:
- Rare: 50 °C
- Medium rare: 55 °C
- Medium: 60 °C
Cooking Time
- 1 hour
Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks (approx. 3.5 cm thick)
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- Rosemary
- Avocado oil
- Butter
Instructions
- If you like, you can marinate the meat up to 24 hours in advance, but it’s not necessary. First, set your sous vide cooker to preheat the water. Choose the temperature according to your preferred doneness.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper. Place it in a bag together with the remaining ingredients—you can use a zip-lock bag or a vacuum sealer if you plan to store the cooked steak for later.
- Place the sealed steak into the water bath, where it will cook slowly and evenly.
- Once the set time is up, the Lauben Sous Vide Stick will notify you and then switch off automatically. Remove the steak from the bag and discard the herbs.
- If the steak was vacuum-sealed, you can store it in the refrigerator at this stage—it will be ready for you later, for example for weekend grilling.
- If you want to finish the steak right away, heat avocado oil in a pan and quickly sear the steak. One minute is enough—turn the steak every 15 seconds to create a beautiful crust.
