Cook Your Main and Side at Once: 3 Recipes for a Dual-Basket Air Fryer

Cook Your Main and Side at Once: 3 Recipes for a Dual-Basket Air Fryer

The meat's ready, but the potatoes are still raw. Or the other way round. Cooking a whole meal is mostly about timing, and that rarely works out.

What would you say if an air fryer took care of that for you? It cooks the main and the side in two baskets and makes sure both are ready at the same time.

How cooking in two baskets works

The Lauben CookPilot+® AirTower Fryer 10000SB has two 5-litre baskets stacked one above the other, not side by side. You put something different in each and set each one separately. The synchronised finish function then keeps an eye on the timing so both dishes are ready at the same moment, even if each needs a different cooking time.

Want the same thing in both baskets? One press of the Match button sets the same programme for both at once. And through the clear windows you can see into both, so you check the colour and crispiness without interrupting the cooking. No opening, no guessing.

And you don't have to hunt for recipes on your phone. Right on the display you have more than 50 built-in recipes with photos that walk you through step by step.

We've picked three dishes to try the two baskets on. From a classic dinner to a portion for the whole crowd.

Honey-Glazed Pork Tenderloin With Sweet Potatoes

The tenderloin is done in minutes and stays beautifully juicy. Honey and mustard give it a glossy crust, while the sweet potatoes caramelise alongside. Ideal for a dinner when you want to impress but don't fancy spending ages at the stove.

Ingredients

In one basket:

  • 1 pork tenderloin (about 400 g)

  • 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • oil, salt, pepper

In the other basket:

  • 2 sweet potatoes

  • 1 tbsp oil, salt, a pinch of ground paprika

Method

  1. Pat the tenderloin dry and rub it with oil, salt and pepper. Mix the honey with the mustard.

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into cubes and toss with oil, salt and paprika.

  1. Put the tenderloin in one basket and the sweet potatoes in the other. Set the tenderloin to the Steak programme or a custom setting, the sweet potatoes to the Fries programme, and switch on the synchronised finish.

  1. Cook for about 18 minutes at 190 °C. When Flip sounds, turn the tenderloin and brush it with the honey-mustard glaze.

  1. The tenderloin is done when it's light pink and juicy inside. Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice.

Salmon and Root Vegetables, Each at Its Own Pace

The vegetables need more time than the fish. This is exactly where the synchronised finish shows what it can do. You set each basket separately and the air fryer aligns the timing so the salmon isn't overdone and the vegetables stay soft inside.

Ingredients

In one basket:

  • 2 salmon fillets

  • oil, salt, half a lemon

In the other basket:

  • carrot, parsnip and red onion (about 500 g in total)

  • 1 tbsp oil, salt, thyme

Method

  1. Cut the vegetables into similar-sized pieces, toss with oil, salt and thyme, and put them in one basket.

  1. Pat the salmon dry, rub it with oil, season with salt and squeeze over the lemon. Put it in the other basket.

  1. Set the vegetables to the Vegetables programme, the salmon to the Seafood programme or a custom setting, and switch on the synchronised finish.

  1. The air fryer starts each basket so they finish together. Stir the vegetables halfway through, when Flip prompts you.

  1. The salmon is done when the flesh flakes and is light pink inside. The vegetables should be soft in the middle with browned edges.

Crispy Breaded Camembert for Visitors, in Both Baskets at Once

When guests turn up, you make a favourite for everyone at once. Breaded camembert comes out crispy on the outside and melting inside, without frying in oil. One press of Match fills both baskets the same way and you've got a portion for the whole crowd.

Ingredients

  • 2 camemberts (or 4 smaller ones)

  • 1 egg, 3 tbsp plain flour, a handful of breadcrumbs

  • spray oil

  • cranberry sauce or chutney to serve

Method

  1. Cut each camembert into halves or quarters. Coat the pieces in turn in flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs.

  1. Put the coated pieces in the freezer for 15 minutes so they hold their shape and the cheese doesn't leak while cooking.

  1. Lightly spray them with oil and spread them in both baskets in a single layer.

  1. Press Match and choose the Roast programme or a custom setting. The setting carries over to both baskets at once.

  1. Cook for about 8 minutes at 190 °C, until golden and crispy. Serve straight away, with cranberry sauce.

Why This Air Fryer Is Worth It

Ten litres of capacity, and almost no extra space taken up. Thanks to the DoubleStack design, the two 5-litre baskets are stacked one above the other, so the air fryer barely spreads out sideways. You'll appreciate that most in a smaller kitchen or flat, where every centimetre counts.

Take the smaller amount of oil as a bonus. Compared with traditional frying you'll use up to 80% less fat. And the clean-up? Both non-stick baskets go in the dishwasher and the surface stays cool to the touch thanks to Cool Touch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cook something different in each basket? Yes. You set each basket separately and the synchronised finish makes sure both are ready at the same time.

What does the Match button do? Match sets the same programme for both baskets with one press. It's handy when you want a double portion of the same thing.

How much food fits in the air fryer? The two 5-litre baskets add up to 10 litres, so you can make a whole meal for the family or a larger portion for guests.

Do I need an app or Wi-Fi for the air fryer? No. The recipes and guidance are right on the display and work even without an internet connection.

What languages are the recipes and interface in? The interface and the built-in recipes are available in four languages, including Czech.

Does the air fryer take up a lot of worktop space? Thanks to the DoubleStack design it grows mainly upwards, not sideways. So it takes up less space on the worktop than ten litres might suggest.
