Budget-Friendly Air Fryer Recipes: 5 Ideas That Won’t Break the Bank

Homemade Seasoned Fries 

Ingredients (2 servings): 

  • 800 g potatoes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt, pepper, paprika, or your favorite seasoning 

Method: 

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries.
  2. Mix with oil and seasoning.
  3. Spread them into the baskets of the Lauben DualZone® Air Fryer 8000BC – thanks to the two zones, you can cook evenly without overcrowding.
  4. Air fry at 180 °C for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway through.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp oil

Method: 

  1. Cut the vegetables into small pieces and mix with oil, salt, and seasoning.
  2. Place them in the air fryer basket and cook at 190 °C for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs, gently stir, and cook for another 4–5 minutes. 

Quick Chicken Nuggets Without Excess Fat 

Ingredients: 

  • 500 g chicken (thighs or breast)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
  • salt, pepper, paprika 

Method: 

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Coat in beaten egg, then in breadcrumbs.
  3. Place in the air fryer and cook at 200 °C for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through. 

💡 Tip: For an even cheaper version, use homemade breadcrumbs from stale bread. 

Baked Rice with Vegetables 

Ingredients: 

  • 250 g cooked rice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 carrot (coarsely grated)
  • 50 g frozen peas
  • soy sauce to taste 

Method: 

  1. Mix the rice, eggs, carrot, and peas in a bowl.
  2. Season with a little soy sauce.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the air fryer basket and cook at 180 °C for 15 minutes. 

Simple Baked Potato Patties 

Ingredients: 

  • 500 g cooked potatoes (grated)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • salt, pepper 

Method: 

  1. Mix all ingredients into a dough.
  2. Form small patties and place them into the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook at 190 °C for 10–12 minutes until golden. 

💡 Tip: Serve with plain yogurt, cottage cheese, or a simple garlic dip and fresh herbs.
